Connect and Have Fun!

Our social program offers a variety of opportunities for getting to know your fellow students, developing your intercultural competences outside of a classroom, and learning more about the University of Zurich and Zurich as a city.

Check out some impressions from our past social program events. Over the three weeks, students have the chance to visit a historical Swiss town, enjoy a delicious, traditional Swiss dinner, discover the city of Zurich on a guided tour, and much more!

Please note that the schedule is only indicative and is meant to provide a sample for the course programs of the UZHISS. The Social Program events are finalized and registration for the individual events will be accessible to enrolled students once the application window has closed. Weiterführende Informationen

Traditional Swiss Dinner

On a little hill just outside of Zurich we get to enjoy a delicious Swiss dinner made up of traditional dishes. While exploring the Swiss cuisine, we get glimpses of cows grazing and small bunnies just outside the converted barn that is the night's event location.

Hike on Uetliberg

On a leisurely hike, you experience a quintessentially Swiss activity: hiking! Visiting the Uetliberg and taking a walk along the ridge across to Felsenegg, you get to see an amazing alpine panorama, including a beautiful view across Lake Zurich and the city of Zurich. The gondola ride and boat journey back home are the cherry on top!

Guided City Tour in Zurich

Discover the city of Zurich with our guide Philippe! The tour is especially tailored to UZHISS students and their short visit to the city.

Day Trip to Berne

We spend a day in Switzerland's vibrant capital exploring the old town (a UNESCO world heritage site), visiting the bears, and learning more about the history and culture of the medieval townscape.

Day Trip to the Rhine Falls and Schaffhausen

While on a boat ride, we experience one of the largest waterfalls in Europe from up close. The impressive scenery is best experienced with all senses! Afterwards, a tour takes us through the scenic old town of Schaffhausen and to the Munot, a 16th century fortress.

Campus BBQ

On the penultimate day of the UZHISS, we look back on a successful three weeks and celebrate with a tasty BBQ in a relaxed atmosphere.
